Is your calendar not appearing in XNeuronal?
XNeuronal reads the calendars your Android phone knows about, and adds the appointments you dictate to them. If your calendar is missing from the list, it's almost always a setting in its app. Here's which one.
How XNeuronal reads your calendars
On Android, each calendar app that syncs an account (Google, Microsoft, Samsung, etc.) deposits its appointments into the phone's calendar. XNeuronal reads this calendar, never the provider's server: no password to give, no connection to authorize.
In Settings > Phone Calendar, you check the calendars to read one by one. Their appointments become cards: the morning briefing and "what do I have this week" know about them. You also choose the calendar XNeuronal adds the appointments you dictate to.
Nothing is read until you check something. Unchecking stops reading, already imported cards remain, and Settings > Memory > Clear removes them calendar by calendar.

Why isn't my Outlook calendar appearing?
- Open the Outlook app.
- Go to your account, then Calendar.
- Enable "Sync calendars".
- Go back to XNeuronal and tap "Refresh list".
An IMAP or POP account doesn't have a calendar: Outlook can't sync anything for it. A Microsoft 365 or Exchange business account has the same button.
Proton Calendar
How do I connect Proton Calendar?
- Install "Sync Provider for Proton" from the Play Store, the official Proton app.
- Connect your Proton account within it and enable the calendars to sync.
- Go back to XNeuronal and tap "Refresh list".
Proton doesn't offer CalDAV: this app is the only gateway to the phone's calendar.
iCloud, Nextcloud, Fastmail, Infomaniak, Zimbra, Yahoo
How do I connect iCloud, Nextcloud, or another CalDAV calendar?
- Install DAVx⁵ (paid on the Play Store, free on F-Droid).
- Add your CalDAV account with your provider's address.
- For iCloud, first create an app-specific password on appleid.apple.com: your usual password will be rejected.
- Go back to XNeuronal and tap "Refresh list."
DAVx⁵ syncs both ways: an appointment dictated to XNeuronal goes back to iCloud or Nextcloud.
Samsung Calendar, Mi Calendar, DigiCal, Business Calendar
I'm looking for "Samsung Calendar" in the list and can't find it
- These apps don't have their own calendars; they display the phone's calendars.
- In XNeuronal, look for the calendar under the account name (your Gmail address, your Samsung account), not under the app name.
- The "My Calendar" calendar on a Samsung without an account appears under "Phone calendar."
POP or IMAP email account (OVH, Free…)
How do I add a POP or IMAP account, for example with OVH?
- A POP or IMAP email account only carries messages: it doesn't have a calendar, so there's nothing to sync.
- Check what calendar your provider offers alongside the mailbox.
- Exchange (OVH Exchange, Microsoft 365, corporate server): install the Outlook app, add the account, enable "Sync calendars."
- CalDAV (OVH Email Pro and Zimbra, Infomaniak, Fastmail, Nextcloud): install DAVx⁵ and add the account using the CalDAV address provided by your provider.
- A simple email account (OVH MX Plan, Free) doesn't have a calendar: keep your Google Calendar or your phone's calendar.
Calendars by link: Airbnb, Booking, a club, a school
Some calendars don't go through your phone: they're shared through an iCal link. Airbnb or Booking reservations, the schedule of a club, a school or your job, a Google Calendar's secret address, a calendar published from Outlook, a public iCloud calendar. XNeuronal takes them in Settings › Calendar › Calendar links, and re-reads each link on its own every two hours. Available from version 1.0.14 of the app.
These calendars are read-only: the appointments you dictate are never added to them, and an appointment that comes from a link is edited at its source (in Airbnb, on the club's website), not in XNeuronal. You can add up to 20.
Add a calendar by link
How do I add my Airbnb or Booking reservations, or a club's schedule?
- Copy the calendar's link. It starts with https:// or webcal://.
- In XNeuronal, open Settings › Calendar › Calendar links and tap “Add a calendar by link”.
- Paste the link, then tap “Check the link”: XNeuronal shows how many events it found and the website's name.
- Pick a name and a color, then tap “Add”.
The appointments become cards, and XNeuronal re-reads the link every two hours. A finished reservation that drops out of the Airbnb link stays in your history.
Where do I find the link?
Airbnb
On Airbnb, as a host, open the listing's calendar: Availability › Sync calendars › Export calendar. Copy the link shown. There's one link per listing.
Booking.com
In the Booking.com extranet: Rates & availability › Sync calendars › Export calendar. Copy the link shown.
Google Calendar
On calendar.google.com, from a computer: Settings › your calendar › Integrate calendar › “Secret address in iCal format”. This link opens the whole calendar: don't share it.
Outlook.com, Microsoft 365
On outlook.com: Settings › Calendar › Shared calendars › Publish a calendar. Pick the calendar, then copy the ICS link.
iCloud
In Calendar on iPhone or Mac: calendar info › “Public Calendar”, then share the iCloud link (it starts with webcal://).
Club, school, work schedule
On the website of the club, the school or your work schedule, look for “Export”, “Subscribe” or “iCal”: it's the link that often ends in .ics.
Can I edit an appointment that comes from a link?
Yes: an imported card is edited like any other card, in XNeuronal. The link itself stays read-only: XNeuronal never writes to Airbnb, Booking or the club, and re-reads the link every two hours. What changes at the source afterwards rewrites only that field, never what you edited here. The appointments you dictate go to your default calendar, or to the one you name.
How do I remove a calendar by link?
In Settings › Phone calendar, tap “Remove” on the calendar. XNeuronal stops re-reading it, and the cards already imported stay. To delete them too: Settings › Memory › Erase, calendar by calendar.
What if my calendar by link stops updating?
The calendar itself shows what's wrong: link not found (deleted or changed at the source), a link that doesn't lead to a calendar, a website that isn't responding. XNeuronal tries again on its own. After several failures, re-reading pauses until you tap “Refresh” on the calendar.
An .ics file: an invitation or a calendar export
How do I add an .ics invitation I received by email?
- Tap the .ics file (an email attachment, a download) and choose to open it with XNeuronal. Or, in Settings › Calendar › Calendar links, tap “Import an .ics file”.
- A file with a single appointment offers “Add to my agenda”: it becomes a regular appointment that you can edit.
- A file with several events is imported once, as a separate calendar: tap “Import”.
Available from version 1.0.14 of the app. A calendar imported from a file is a copy: its events become cards of yours, edited like any other, and Settings › Memory › Erase removes them. Opening the same file again updates it instead of duplicating it.
What XNeuronal keeps for you
The name of your calendars (often an email address) never appears in a shared card or on a public page. Imported appointments are cards like any others, with the same privacy rules.
The link you paste is kept encrypted on XNeuronal's servers, and the app never shows it in full again: only the website's name appears. A useful precaution for a Google Calendar's secret address, which opens the whole calendar.
